TRAI decides there will be no fees for SMS and cell broadcast alerts during disasters:
- The Telecom Tariff (69th Amendment) Order 2022 on Tariff for SMS and Cell Broadcast Alerts Disseminated ThroughCommon Alerting Protocol (CAP) Platform During Disasters/Non-Disasters was issued by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
- The Department of Telecom (DoT) asked TRAI to provide pricing for SMS and cell broadcast alerts and messages that TSPs will disseminate via the CAP platform during both disasters and non-disasters.

- International Students’ Day, is celebrated on November 17th to remember the courage of student activists during the 1939 Nazi attack at the University of Prague.

- A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was inked between the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) and Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) to build India’s first hydrogen fuel cell catamaran vessel for operation in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh and electric hybrid vessels for UP and
Key Highlights :
- The air-conditioned hydrogen fuel cell catamaran vessel will have a seating capacity for 100 passengers.
- The vessel will be deployed at Varanasi after test and trial runs in Kochi.
- It will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 250 MT annually.
