• Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has suspended 25 of the 44 Congress MPs for five days for causing "grave disorder"in Parliament.
• The NDA Government has decided to withdraw all the changes it had proposed to the Land Acquisition Act passed by the UPA government in 2013.

• Former President and missile man of India APJ Abdul Kalam died at the age of 84 at a hospital in Meghalaya. He was in Meghalaya to deliver a lecture at the IIM in Shillong.
• At least five people were killed and 10 injured in a terrorist attack in Gurdaspur district, Punjab. Security personnel have captured one terrorist while three others have been killed in the gunbattle.

• Vijay Diwas is celebrated across the nation in the memory of Kargil war.
• World's largest flower Titan Arum, a 6.5 feet long flower bloomed in Tokyo's Jindai Botanical Garden for the first time in five years.

25th July:
• A sessions court in Delhi has dropped all charges against IPL cricketers S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan from spot fixing.
• The Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi launched Deendayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) in Patna.
