World Cancer Day – Feb 4:
- World Cancer Day is observed annually on February 4 to raise worldwide awareness, improving education and catalysing personal, collective and government action.
- It is an initiative of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC).
- The theme of this year’s World Cancer Day is “Close the Care Gap”.
- The theme is all about raising awareness of the equity gap that affects almost everyone, in high as well as low- and middle-income countries, and is costing lives.
