CURRENT AFFAIRS: IMPORTANT DAYS

Christmas Day: 25th December

  • Christmas Day 2022 is observed on the 25th of December 2022.

  • The apostles Matthew, Mark, Luke and John share comparable narratives in the New Testament of the Bible, although they never specify the time of Jesus’ birth.
  • Sextus Julius Africanus, the earliest Christian historian, is largely responsible for the creation of December 25.

  • Another perspective based the date on March 25, which is the spring equinox, as the day of Jesus’ conception.
  • The birth of Jesus would take place exactly nine months later, on December 25.

  • Three times, Atal Bihari Vajpayee led India as prime minister. In 1996, his first term lasted just 13 days.
  • He completed his second term from 1999 to 2004 after serving it for a total of thirteen months from March 1998 to April 1999.
  • In 1962, he made his debut appearance in the Rajya Sabha.
