Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare has Chaired the 12th Indian Organ Donation Day Celebrations:
- Mansukh Mandavya, Union Minister for Health and Family has addressed the 12th Indian Organ Donation Day in the presence of Bharati Pravin Pawar, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare.
- The event, meant to celebrate the gift of life given by the deceased donors to the transplant recipients was inaugurated by the Union Ministers to promote organ donation at a time the country’s demand for organ replacement far exceeds organ donations.

- Constitution Day, also known as National Law Day, is celebrated in India on 26 November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India.
- The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, inaugurated the Indian Constitution Day celebrations organised by the Supreme Court, on November 26, 2018 in New Delhi.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women- Nov 25
- The United Nations General Assembly has designated November 25 as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
- To raise awareness of the fact that women around the world are subject to various forms of violence and true nature of the issue is often hidden.
- Theme for 2021 is “Orange the World: End Violence against Women Now!”.
- The day was officially designated by UNGA on December 17, 1999.
- Women’s rights activists have observed 25 November as a day against gender-based violence since 1981.
- This date was selected to honour the Mirabal sisters, three political activists from the Dominican Republic who were brutally murdered in 1960 by order of the country’s ruler, Rafael Trujillo (1930-1961).

Defence Acquisition Council headed by Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh approves proposal of value Rs. 2,236 Cr
- The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) in its meeting of 23 November 2021 held under the Chairmanship of Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh accorded Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for one Capital Acquisition proposal of Indian Air Force for its modernization and operational needs amounting to Rs. 2,236 Cr.

5th East Asia Summit Conference on Maritime Security Cooperation has begun in Kolkata
- The fifth East Asia Summit, EAS Conference on Maritime Security Cooperation has begun in Kolkata.
- The two-day event is being organized by India in partnership with Australia.
- Apart from the two governments, organizers include the ASEAN-India Centre at Research and Information System for Developing Countries in collaboration with National Maritime Foundation of Australia and the Research Centre for East and North East Regional Studies, Kolkata.

World Fisheries Day: Nov 21
- World Fisheries Day is observed on 21 November every year by fishing communities across the world.

World Children’s Day – Nov 20
- The Universal/World Children’s Day is celebrated on 20 November annually to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children’s welfare.
- November 20th is an important date as it is the date in 1959 when the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. 2021 marks the 32nd anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
- The theme of World Children’s Day 2021 is ” A better future for every child.” The theme focuses on raising the voice on the issues that matter to the generation of children and young people and calling for adults to create a better future.
- In 1954, World Children’s Day was first established as Universal Children’s Day and is decided to celebrate it on 20 November every year.

World Toilet Day- Nov 19
- World Toilet Day is an official United Nations International observance day on 19 November to inspire action to tackle the global sanitation crisis.
- Worldwide, 4.2 billion people live without “safely managed sanitation” and around 673 million people practice open defecation
- World Toilet Day 2021 theme: “valuing toilets”.
- The day is observed to inform, engage and inspire people to take action toward achieving the goal of improving sanitation and aims to “Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
- The World Toilet Day was firstly observed on 19th November 2012 established by the World Toilet Organization in 2001 also the inaugural World Toilet Summit was held on the same day and Twelve years later, in 2013, the UN General Assembly declared World Toilet Day an official UN day.

- World Philosophy Day is celebrated on the Third Thursday of November each year.
- In 2021, the day falls on 18 November. WPD aims to raise public awareness of the importance of philosophy..
- World Philosophy Day was introduced in 2002 by UNESCO. In 2005 the UNESCO General Conference proclaimed that World Philosophy Day would be celebrated every third Thursday of November
- Philosophy comes from the Greek word phÃlosophÃa which means ‘the love of wisdom.’
- It is the study of the nature of reality and existence, of what is possible to know, and of right and wrong behavior.

International Day for Tolerance- Nov 16
- The United Nations observes “International Day for Tolerance” on 16th November every year.
- The United Nations is committed to strengthening tolerance by fostering mutual understanding among cultures and peoples.
- The objective behind celebrating the day is to create public awareness of the dangers of intolerance. UNESCO created a prize for the promotion of tolerance and non-violence to mark the United Nations Year for Tolerance in 1995 and the 125th anniversary of the birth of Mahatma Gandhi.
- The UN General Assembly in 1996 by resolution 51/95 invited the UN Member States to observe the International Day for Tolerance on 16 November.

World Diabetes Day- Nov 14
- World Diabetes Day is observed on 14th November every year.
- The campaign aims to raise awareness around the crucial role that nurses play in supporting people living with diabetes.
- World Diabetes Day was launched in 1991 by the IDF and the World Health Organization (WHO) in response to the rapid rise of diabetes around the world.
- The theme for World Diabetes Day 2021-23: “Access to Diabetes Care”.
- In 2007 General Assembly adopted resolution 61/225 designating 14 November as World Diabetes Day.

World Kindness Day- Nov 13
- World Kindness Day is celebrated on 13 November and this day provides us an opportunity to reflect and follow the most important and one of the unique human principles.
- This day promotes small acts of kindness and brings people together.
- It was introduced in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement, a coalition of nations’ kindness NGOs. It is observed in many countries, including Canada, Australia, Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates. Singapore observed the day for the first time in 2009.

World Pneumonia Day: Nov 12
- World Pneumonia Day is observed across the world on November 12 every year to raise awareness, promote prevention and treatment and produce action to combat the disease.
- World Pneumonia Day provides an annual forum for the world to stand together and demand action in the fight against pneumonia. More than 100 organizations representing the interests of children joined forces as the Global Coalition against Child Pneumonia to hold the first World Pneumonia Day on 2 November 2009.

National Cancer Awareness Day- Nov 7
- The National Cancer Awareness Day is observed annually in India on November 7, to spread awareness on cancer, its symptoms and treatment.
- According to the World Health Organization (WHO), cancer is the second leading cause of death globally.
- National Cancer Awareness Day was first announced in September 2014 by then Union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, with November 7 chosen for the occasion to coincide with the birth anniversary of Nobel laureate Marie Curie, who was born on 7th November,1867 and whose works led to the development of radiotherapy to treat cancer.

World Tsunami Awareness Day Observed on 05 November
- World Tsunami Awareness Day is observed on November 5 every year.
Purpose :
- To raise awareness in areas such as tsunami early warning, public action and building back better after a disaster to reduce future impacts.
- In 2021, World Tsunami Awareness Day will promote the ‘Sendai Seven Campaign’ which aims to Substantially enhance international cooperation to developing countries through adequate and sustainable support to complement their national actions for implementation of the present Framework by 2030.
- The United Nations (UN) in December 2015 designated November 5 every year as World Tsunami Awareness Day.

Home Minister has launched ‘Ayushmaan CAPF’ health card to provide health care services to all CAPF personnel
- Home Minister Amit Shah has launched the ‘Ayushmaan CAPF’ Scheme health cards at the national level in New Delhi.
- The home minister has launched the scheme by handing over the Ayushmaan card to personnel.
- He also handed over ‘Ayushmaan CAPF’ Scheme health cards to the Director General, National Security Guard, NSG for distribution to NSG personnel.
- The CAPFs should take care of security of the country without any worries and Narendra Modi Government will take care of their families, and the scheme has been designed to cover all serving personnel and their dependents of the seven Central Armed Police Forces.

International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists- Nov 2:
- The International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists is an UN-recognized international day observed annually on 2 November.
- The day draws attention to the level of impunity for crimes against journalists, which remains extremely high globally.
- The day was recognized by the UN General Assembly in December 2013.
- The date chosen by the UN marks the death of Ghislaine Dupont and Claude Verlon, two French journalists killed while reporting in Mali on November 2, 2013.

National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas)- Oct 31
- National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas has been celebrated on 31st October every year since 2014 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
- This year marks the 146th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, freedom fighter and later a politician who played a major role in the integration of India.
- He played an instrumental role in India’s struggle for independence, and later during the integration of the country.
- Sardar Patel was the first Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of India.
- He is often referred to as the Father of the Indian Constitution and was a key member of the Constituent Assembly.
