1. U Htin Kyaw of the National League for Democracy (NLD), led by Aung San Suu Kyi sworn in as Myanmar's new president.
2. The government permitted 100 per cent FDI in the market place format of e-commerce retailing with a view to attract more
foreign investments. As per the guidelines issued by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) on FDI in e-commerce, foreign direct investment (FDI) has not been allowed in inventory-based model of e-commerce.

3. The Asian Development Bank's (ADB) growth forecast of 7.4 per cent for 2016-17 is substantially lower than its earlier projection of 7.8 per cent.
4. Dr. Najma Heptulla, the Union Minister for Minority Affairs launched innovative entrepreneurship and skill development programme of Maulana Azad National Academy for Skills (MANAS) – through leading national/ international experts in different skill sets.
