1. India and Russia signed an agreement for cooperation on a coordinated grant competition for conducting basic and exploratory scientific research.
2. India and Armenia signed a Protocol amending the India-Armenia Double Taxation Avoidance Convention.The Protocol was signed by Shri Arun Kumar Jain, Chairman, CBDT, on behalf of
Government of India and by Mr Armen Martirosyan, the Ambassador of Armenia to India, on behalf of the Government of Armenia.
3. Veteran actress Rekha was honored with the Yash Chopra Memorial Award. She was honored with the Third Yash Chopra Memorial Award by the Governor of Maharashtra C Vidyasagar Rao for her contribution to the film industry.
4. The Government of India, the State of Rajasthan and the DISCOMs of Rajasthan signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) under the Scheme UDAY – 'Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojana'. Rajasthan is the third State to sign the MOU under UDAY, the other two States being Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.
5. A Kerala dentist Sajeev Koshy settled in Melbourne was honored with the highest civilian honour, the Order of Australia. Koshy was given the award for his service to dentistry in Victoria, Australia.
6. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has been announced as the richest man in the world once again with a net worth of $87.4 billion. The list is released by company Wealth-X. Gates is followed by Amancio Ortega, a Spanish businessman and founding chairman of the Inditex fashion group and Hathaway CEO, Warren Buffet came third in this list.
7. India has regained No. 1 Test ranking. India returned the Test summit of the International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings for the first time since August 2011. Australia is on the second spot.
8. The International Hockey Federation (FIH) named the Netherlands pair of Robert Van Der Horst and Lidewij Welten as the 2015 Players of the Year in the men's and women's categories respectively.
9. Famous American Actor Abe Vigoda passed away in New Jersey. He was 94.

Denmark remained at the top of Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index, a closely watched global barometer, for the second consecutive year as the country perceived as least corrupt. It scored 91 points out of a possible 100 while North Korea and Somalia remained at the bottom with unchanged scores of 8. India has been ranked 76.
