1. The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) announced the appointment of India's nominee, Dr. D.J. Pandian, as the Vice-President, Chief Investment Officer of the newly formed USD 100 billion multilateral development bank.


2. Australia announced the appointment of Indian-origin Harinder Sidhu as the country's next High Commissioner to India. She will replace the outgoing High Commissioner Patrick Suckling.
3. Shri Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister of Railways launched three IT enabled projects through Video-Conferencing which included (i) Paperless unreserved ticketing through mobile phone in suburban section of South Central Railway (ii) Pilot Project of hand Held Terminals for TTEs on Northern Railway and (iii) E-booking of disposable linen on trains at New Delhi Railway Station and Nizamuddin Railway Station.
4. Acclaimed film director Aurobindo Mukherjee passed away. He was 97.
5. A top Indian-origin lawyer in Singapore Devendra Singh has been named as vice-chairman of the Paris-based 'International Chamber of Commerce Commission'. International Chamber of Commerce Commission is a private sector world business organisation with a central role in global trade and commerce.
6. Ministry of Railways and Governments of Telangana signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Formation of Joint Venture Companies for Development of Railway Infrastructure in Telangana State.
7. The Ministry of Women and Child Development has expanded Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme in additional 61 district (covering 11 states). Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) Scheme was launched on 22nd January, 2015 at Panipat in Haryana.
8. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee laid the foundation stone of an integrated consumer goods manufacturing unit by ITC at Panchla in Howrah.
9. The National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) entered into a Memorandum of Understand (MOU) with Indian Institute of Chemical Biology to promote entrepreneurship.
