1. Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (RInfra) said that it has taken over the management and control of Pipavav Defence and Offshore Engineering Co Ltd (PDOC) with Anil Ambani as its Chairman.RInfra takes over the management and control of PDOC and to hold 36.5 percent of the equity capital of Pipavav Defence & Offshore Engineering Co Ltd.


2. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the Sikkim Organic Festival 2016, and addressed the Plenary Session of the National Conference on Sustainable Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, at Gangtok in Sikkim.

4. World Bank has announced to extend $20 million for reconstructing Visakhapatnam's Indira Gandhi Zoological Park in Andhra Pradesh.

5. The International Cricket Council has announced Channel 2 Group as its global audio rights partner. Under the agreement, Channel 2 Group will provide live audio commentary for all ICC events from 2016 to 2023 through its FM and AM channels.

The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) released the World Tourism Barometer, which reviewed trends in tourism at the regional and global level for 2015 and enumerated prospects for 2016.As per the publication, international tourist arrivals grew by 4.4 percent in 2015 to reach a total of 1184 million in 2015. In numbers, around 50 million more travelers were recorded in 2015 compared to that 2014.

7. Sri Lankan all-rounder Thisara Perera had announced to retire from Tests with immediate effect and will continue to play ODI and T20 matches for Sri Lanka.

9. The world's oldest man has died at the age of 112 in the Japanese city of Nagoya. Yasutaro Koide, who was born on 13 March 1903, was officially named the oldest man by Guinness World Records in August 2015.


10. Actor Michael Keaton received one of France’s highest honours, becoming Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters. The actor was presented with the medal by culture minister Fleur Pellerin.

11. The Ministry of Shipping has started ‘Project Green Ports’ which will help in making the Major Ports across India cleaner and greener. ‘Project Green Ports’ will have two verticals - one is ‘Green Ports Initiatives’ related to environmental issues and second is ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’.
