1. Cuba has signed two agreements with North Korea on cooperation in foreign trade and scientific and technological development. The deals were signed by Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba Rodrigo Malmierca and North Korea’s ambassador in Havana, Pak Chang Yul.


2. Dr. Kamlesh Kumar Pandey has been appointed as the Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities (CCPD). Before joining the post of CCPD, Dr. Pandey was associated with Saksham, an NGO working in the field of disability.
3. Lt. Governor of Puducherry A. K. Singh launched the MITRA mobile application to ensure safety and security of women in the Union Territory. The Android based application can send emergency SOS messages when in danger or emergency.
4. Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni now has the most stumpings in international cricket. He has 140 stumpings, beating Sri Lankan Kumar Sangakkara's mark of 139.
5. Senior journalist of Kerala T. N. GopaKumar passed away. He was 58. He was also known as TNG.

8. Angelique Kerber, ranked sixth in the world claimed her first Australian Open Women's singles title by defeating World No.1 Serena Williams. This is the first Grand Slam of Kerber's career.
9. Vice Admiral Girish Luthra took charge as the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command. Luthra took over the charge from Vice Admiral Sunil Lamba.
10. George Miller's directorial “Mad Max: Fury Road” and Todd Haynes's directorial “Carol” bagged two awards each at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television ArtsÂ’ International Awards (AACTA).
